Dear Telerik team,

we've recently upgraded ASP.NET Ajax Web controls to version 2011.2.712.40, however by the next launch of our web. application we've obtained the following error message after a visual skin has been changed:
Telerik.Web.UI.RadFormDecorator with ID='FormDecorator1' was unable to find embedded skin with name 'Office2010Blue'. Please, make sure that you spelled the skin name correctly, or if you want to use a custom skin, set EnableEmbeddedSkins=false.

A curiosity occurs also at Telerik upgrade wizzard by getting the latest version (see attached image as >>upgradescreen.jpg<<)

In addition, VS2010 Designer shows an error message "Failed to create designer..." for all the visual components.
We've also tried the remove of the files from folder: 'C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\ProjectAssemblies', but it doesn't work.

At last we provide the screenshot as the next attachment >>versioninfo.jpg<< obtained from a project references list in VS2010 which (oddly enough) indicates the use of latest libraries (v.2011.2.712.40).

Can you help us, please? We'll be very grateful for any ideas and suggestions.

Kind regards,
SCT

Hi Sct,

About the Office2010Blue error: A new skins assembly is introduced (Telerik.Web.UI.Skins) in the Q2 2011 release of the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX. To fix the problem you should include the Telerik.Web.UI.Skins.dll into the bin folder of your project.
You can find more information in the following blog post:
http://blogs.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/posts/11-07-05/new-telerik-ajax-skins-assembly.aspx

As for the Upgrade Wizard screenshot, it looks like you have both Q1 2011 and Q2 2011 installed. The behavior you are observing is expected.

On a side note, it looks like you are not using the latest VS Extensions currently. The latest VS Extensions contain various improvements, as well as ones in regards to the new skins assembly. I would recommend getting our latest VS Extensions.

You can do that by using the following steps:
1) Use the Visual Studio Extension Manager (Tools -> Extension Manager) to remove all Telerik VSExtensions you have
2) Restart Visual Studio
3) Get the latest Telerik VSExtensions from the Visual Studio Gallery. You read more on how that is done in the following blog post:
Benefits from Telerik and Visual Studio Online Gallery in VS2010

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you experience any further issues.

Best wishes,

Hi Andrey,

thank you very much for your response. We've upgraded Telerik libraries by VS Extensions in according to your advice.
It works fine, however the latest skins cannot be enforced... :(

Kind regards,
SCT

Hi SCT,

Please verify that the Telerik.Web.UI.Skins.dll file is in the bin folder of your project and that it has the same version as the Telerik.Web.UI.dll assembly.

If the file is not there, you can get it from the installation folder - C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Q2 2011\Bin40\

Best wishes,
