I have a Master report with two unbound groups.  My 2nd group footer I have set to PrintOnEveryPage and have a reference number in it.  I then have two subreports in that 2nd group header and a subreport in the Detail section.  This works and the 2nd group footer prints on the bottom of every page EXCEPT the last page where it prints whenever the subreport in the detail page ends.  How can I make this footer print on the bottom of the last page?  I cannot use the Page Footer of the master report because I do not want this to print on the bottom of page 1 or 2, just on the bottom of every other page.  I also have form images as the background image of the ReportHeader, 1st Group Header, 2nd Group header and then the report itself (which shows on every detail page).  Again attempting to use the page footer messes up the page printing for the report header section.  Any help is appreciated!

Hello Heather,

The behavior you describe is by design. As explained in the Understanding Report Sections, Group Footer section is printed at the end of each group of records.
Currently it is not possible to force the group footer or any other report section for that matter to be placed at the bottom, which is the typical place for the page footer section.
According to your explanation, you can stick to the page footer section, but hide it for page 1 and page 2. You can easily achieve this with Conditional Formatting that contains expression check for the PageNumber.

All the best,

The problem I have with using the PageFooter is that when I attempted to use that before it would not display but still take up the space on the page.  For example, if my PageFooter is 1.0 in then even if it is not displayed on the first page the 1.0 inch is still "taken up".  Is there a way to stop that?

Hello Heather,

This behavior is also by design. Page headers and footers are not related to the report itself, they are relative to the margins of the report's media and that is why their space is preserved at all times. As such a case makes sense, we would reconsider changing this behavior so that they could be actually hidden for subsequent versions of the product.

Kind regards,
Steve
