Unable to make out with $find

Unable to find Rad Grid,
In my website, I have a Master page, included with Jquerymin.js and MyScript.js
In my content page i have radgrid view, I'm trying to access rad grid view from MyScript.js but unable to access. 
Getting error unable to call method  get_masterTableView();

grid = $find('<%= gvChartData.ClientID %>');
       var masterTable = grid.get_masterTableView();

Please help me in solving my problem.
