Hi Marcel,
You need to modify the control template of ToolWindow and add shadow element inside it.
I have created and attached a sample project which demonstrates this approach.

Hi Masha,
thank you very much for your help. I already tried your aproach before but forgot to set a margin to acutally see the shadow. Now that the shadow works, I have a minor Problem with the drag areas of the toolwindow. It's not on the visible border of the window anymore but where the shadow ends. This might get a Little confusing to the end user if the shadow is quite broad an he or she wants to resize the window... I guess there is no easy workaroud so I'm probably not going to use broad shadows.

Hi Marcel,
The approach Masha has suggested is the only solution for desired scenario indeed (you will need to use small margins in order be able to have the cursor changing in the correct area).
