Is it possible to show a tooltip that is larger than the usercontrol itself show correctly when in a RadDock?

I have a usercontrol that is 100x50 and I want to show a tooltip that is 200x100. But currently it just gets created inside the usercontrol and cannot not be viewed properly.

Seems as though this problem only exists when in a Dock control.

I saw another similar post dated 07/2007.

    Hi Voss,

I am not quite sure what is your exact setup and I prepared a simple demo project based on my assumptions.

The project contains a RadDock, which has a User Control in it. When you move the mouse over the User Control, a tooltip which is larger than the RadDock shows. Part of this tooltip is inside the dock, and part of it - outside.

In case I have not understand you correctly, please open a new support ticket and send me a sample, fully working demo along with a detailed explanation of the desired behavior and some screenshots. Once I receive it, I will modify it in order to meet your requirements.

It works fine the correct way until it's in a RadDock. There is a previous post from last year that reports the same problem as it relates to the RadDock with a usercontrol.

Try placing a tooltip on a link inside the UC
.That is where it fails for me.

    thanks.

    Hello Voss,

I was able to reproduce the problem but unfortunately this behavior is because of browser specifics and there is no  workaround for the time being.

I suggest to put the RadToolTip outside the RadDock and then set its TargetControlID to the ClientID of the target element which is the user control.

In order to do this I suggest to implement a getter in the User Control and a corresponding setter in the main page.

For your convenience I attached a sample demo and I hope that it meets your requirements.
