Hello Robert,

Unless I am mistaken, this question was asked in one of your support tickets as well (ticket id: 1626519). My colleague Dimitar has already replied to the ticket but I will copy his reply in this thread as well in case anyone else has the same question.

Yes, it should be possible to connect to the database located on the Azure server through the SqlDataSource component. You mentioned that you have already tried that but it did not work, could you please share more details on that? Were there errors? If yes, what were the error messages?

The SqlDataSource component should be able to connect to any database as long as the connection string is correct and the right data provider is used, both of these depend on the database. What kind of database do you use on Azure? Oracle, PostgreSQL, or something else?

I suggest having a look at the Connection Strings Reference website where there are example connection strings for most SQL databases out there plus the data provider that they should be used with. If you haven't, I also recommend having a look at our Connecting to a SQL Database at a Glance - Telerik Reporting article where we have written detailed instructions on how to connect to a database.

I hope that the provided information will help. In case you need further assistance, please answer the questions asked above so that we can know more details about the case and offer better suggestions.

Best Regards,
Momchil
