Is there any way to create a report with a custom datasource created directly from a Silverlight application avoiding the use of a WCF Service??

If it is possible, a simple example will be appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.
Antonio Jesús.

Hi Antonio,

Since the reports should be deployed on the server, they need a communication interface between the server and the client. The Silverlight ReportViewer uses the Telerik Reporting Service to access the report server, hence so far it's not possible to avoid using the WCF service. The deployment process is explained in the following documentation article: Deploying Silverlight Application.

Have you tried the new visualization options in Telerik Reporting Q1 2013? You can get them from your account.
