Telerik - Calendar - Date cell - Text and image display

Hi

I'm new on using Telerik and thus, would like to know how best to display text and image in date cells when viewing Telerik - Calendar. The format for text and image in 1 date cell will be something like below:
*image* *text*
*image* *text*
...

Knowing that DayRender event can be used, but wondered if this will cause page loading to be slow since there may be case where activities are available for all the dates in 1 month.

Any advice?
