Hi

I did a search for table of contents and found this reply in one of the threads:

"It can be done but not out of the box, because the data flow in the report rendering is such that there is no way to know what data is on which page before it has been completely rendered.
Once it is rendered and you see the data/page relation you can manually enter TOC using the ReportHeader section for example."

I am using the UpdateUI event to determine when rendering has completed, but am unsure of how to determine the "data/page relation"?  Can you please clarify.

Thanks,

John

Hello John,

The info you found is clearly before the Q3 release, as we have introduced built-in document map feature (check release notes). More information is available in the Document Map help article.

Best wishes,

Thanks Steve

A couple of things regarding the document map:

When exporting to file is there any way of exporting the document map as well?

Also, my application consists of numerous reports that have a number of charts / tables that are generated at runtime (the user can select what charts / tables they wish to have on the final report hence this requirement).  These are added to a ReportBook and works like a charm.  When setting the bookmarks at the report level these bookmarks are displayed correctly in the document map.

The problem is when I add bookmarks to textboxes within each report they are not displayed in the document map.  However if I add a single report to the report book they do display (so the problem only occurs when more than 1 report is added to the ReportBook)

Cheers,

John

Hello John McLean,

As you can see from our Report Book demo report, we have 3 reports within it and the Product Category one has Document Map enabled and it is displayed as expected. There must be something on your end causing the problems and preparing a runnable sample project that exhibits the problem would be appreciated.

Friday we released a new internal build for Telerik Reporting which introduces support for bookmarks/document map in the PDF format. Check the Release Notes and get the latest internal build from the Latest Internal Builds area (log in required).

All the best,
Steve

Thanks Steve

Internal release install does not work.  I get an error message (attached screenshot)

I have created a support ticket under my user supported login to show the ReportBook issue with document map.

Thanks,

John
