Hello,

How can I make RadEditor strip out any non-HTML5 compliant markup? For example width and height attributes on table rows and cells. Or cellpadding and cellspacing attributes on tables.

I want to use RadEditor to produce HTML that is fully HTML5 compatible.

thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon,

You can modify the content of RadEditor by implementing a custom content filter to strip the required attributes. You can find more detailed information on how to register custom content filter in the following live demo and help article:
Editor / Custom Content Filters
Content Filters

I hope this helps.

I had a go at this but it is quite hard to get it right and cover all possibilities.
I was wondering if Telerik had any plans to make the RadEditor capable of editing HTML5, even if it only handles a few of the new features?
Just having a setting that prevented invalid HTML5 markup would be helpful.

Hi Jon,

You are the first to request HTML 5 filter and for the time being we do plan to implement such. If more users however request such functionality we will definitely consider providing it for a future version of the control.

For Q2 2011 release we developed a new filter for producing E-Newsletter HTML content. You can follow the PITS Issue by its ID: 3785.
