Strip out all items except circle spin wheel thing

I want to use a busy indicator or progress bar or something to display a spinning wheel and not the rest of the content.  help!

You could customize the look & feel of RadBusyIndicator by modifying its BusyContentTemplate, please check the Custom Busy Content topic for more details on the approach.
