Hello,

I would like to implement a data cursor for a DataViz Chart. That is: Something like a crosshair. But the data cursor should always be visible, and the user should be able to fix the position of the cursor by clicking with the mouse. So far I didn't find a solution for this problem in the documentation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Karl,

I am afraid that this behavior is currently not supported out of the box. Implementing it would require a custom solution, which is beyond the scope of our standard support services. If you would like to receive custom code from Telerik, I would suggest checking our premium services.

Hi,

I see this was last posted on 2014. Is there anything done from teleric side to get it working without custom solution in last 3 years?

I believe any chart component should have such features by default. User should be able to place multiple static cursors in chart UI. Also they should be able to move the cursor by dragging or any other means.

Let me know if this is implemented in Kendo UI chart already. If not then what is the workaround we have to get this done.

Regards,

Sriram

Hello, Sriram,

Could you please check our demo of the Pan and Zoom for the Scatter Chart and advise if it is close to the desired result:

http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/scatter-charts/pan-and-zoom

Also, the Chart allows rendering custom plot bands which can be placed anywhere on the Chart, but they static:

https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/controls/charts/how-to/appearance/custom-plot-bands

Additionally, screenshot visualizing the desired result can be very helpful, to allow us to show the best approach if possible to achieve it.

Regards,
Stefan
