Spreadsheet-Format of existing xlsx gets destroyed

If I import an existing xlsx-file (Excel 2013) with a special Formatting and export it afterwards, the formatting is destroyed.

The file has its rows colored in different kinds of grey. After processing it, the colors are from dark blue to dark green. Seems like this depends on the brightness of the grey color of the original file.

If I use a standard Excel-Formatting, it is removed while processing.

What can be the reason for this behaviour?

I could figure out, that the failure only appears for indexed-colors (in styles.xml).

Hello Markus,

The XLSX files have document theme, which predefines some colors and fonts. If you change the active document theme all colors and fonts that are refered from the document theme are changed with the colors defined in the new document theme. Here you can read more about the Document Themes.

The default theme in the RadSpreadsheet have the color schemes and font schemes of the Excel 2010 which are slightly different from Excel 2013.

In order to indentify if this is the case with your document try to change the current theme. It can be done using the Ribbon View. Go to Page Layout tab and from the Themes dropdown select some theme. If the colors are changed then that is the reason for that issue.
