Hi,

I am using Telerik Reporting v5.3 trial version. After I built a report, I displayed it in the Silverlight ReportViewer control, however, I found no way to print my report because the print button in the ReportViewer toolbar is always gray. And neither is there a Print Preview button available. Is this because I am using the trial version?

Thanks a lot!

Hello Xinfeng,

In the version you have specified, you have to first click the Print Preview button and after that you would be able to print. This is a limitation of the Silverlight print which we were able overcome in the latest Q1 2012 version. Please upgrade if you would like to avoid the additional step.

All the best,

Hi Steve,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

In this version, I don't see the "Print Preview" button on the toolbar. (Please see the attached screenshot)
Can you please tell me which setting I should set to make the "Print Preview" button visible?

Regards,

Xinfeng

Hello Xinfeng,

This could mean that you're using a different version than the one you have specified. Note that the Silverlight viewer template is in the RadControls for Silverlight assemblies which we depend on. In short, if you're using Telerik Reporting Q3 2011, the RadControls assemblies should be from Q3 2011 as well.
To verify that the problem is indeed this, open the Visual Studio examples we ship with the product, run the Silverlight demo and verify whether the print button is active and you can print with it. You can also try running our online Silverlight examples and see if they work for your as well.

Kind regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,

My telerik silverlight version is 2011 Q2, which is why the print button is not working.
I will upgrade both the silverlight control and telerik report to 2012.

Thanks a lot for your help!
