Show Dimmed Grid- Ajaxified on ASP Panel

Hi

i have a fairly complicated composite user control which contains an Asp Panel control and within that Panel control there is two user controls of which one contains a RadGrid.

Now because this is a fairly complex composite control that hosts the other user controls I have Ajaxified the Asp Panel so that the contents of it nicely reloads even making use of a Rad Ajax Loading control.

But when the Ajaxified panel has to refresh it's contents it completely disappears and shows the loading user control which is ok. but i would like to still show the contents of the Asp Panel but disabled and dimmed out.

How can I accomplish this?

It is similar to when you open a RadWindow the contents of the form is still visible but gray and disabled, how can I do that on a specific Asp Panel when an Ajaxified postback occurs?
