According to your website, the Ajax control is not Section 508 Compliant. Is there any effort underway to make the control Section 508 Compliant or is there a documented way to use the control and still achieve compliance. I have a project that requires Section 508 Compliance but I am hung up because I can't use your control.

Hi David,

There are several other control-specific resources on the website which are very helpful:
http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/Grid/Examples/GeneralFeatures/Section508/DefaultCS.aspx

http://blogs.telerik.com/atanaskorchev/posts/08-10-02/RadMenu_for_ASP_NET_Ajax_-_Working_with_disabled_JavaScript.aspx

Which specific controls are you using and what scenarios do you struggle with?

Best wishes,

Iv,

We are using several controls: Grid, ComboBox, Tab and Calendar. The main issue is that when the Ajax updates a control, JAWS (an accessibility reader) does not detect that the page has been updated. Hence any changes to the page is not then outputed by the reader. For example, when we implement autocomplete functionality, JAWS fails to detect that user has a list of available choices and does not read them to him/her. As a government entity, we are required to have our applications be Section 508 Compliant.

Thanks,
David

Hello David,

Our AJAX implementation is based on Microsoft ASP.NET Ajax. You can check this web article which discusses ASP.NET Ajax and screen readers.
