Hello, I just installed the Demo for the reporting. I am trying to import from Crystal Reports 11.0.0.1282, but the browse button is disabled. Do I have to have a certain level of Crystal to import? We only have the Workgroup version, not the server.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hello Jason,
Can you take a look at this KB article and check whether you have the correct file mentioned in it.
In case you have the correct CRAXDRT.DLL, but the "Browse" button is still disabled, can you try copying it to:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies
Then restart Visual Studio and try again. If problems persist, do not hesitate to contact us again.
We are looking to hearing from you.

Hmm, there is no CRAX*.dll in that directory. There are about 200 other DLL's. They all have the 11.0.0.1282 version, but not that DLL. Is it only present in certain editions?
I also have the Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008 installed as well.

Hello Jason,
This file represents the "Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer Run Time Library" and without it the converter has no way of working.
In a Visual Studio project, when you open the "Add Reference" dialog, go to the "COM" tab, do you see the entry "Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer Run Time Library 11.0".
We could not locate a "Workgroup" version of Crystal Reports XI on their web-site. You will need either the Developer or the Server Edition of Crystal Reports XI in order to get the Designer Run Time Library and be able to convert.

I am sort of hijacking this thread I guess but I am having the exact same issue. I have two different computers here... both have Crystal Developer 11 on them and both have the telerik reporting tools on them. On one the browse button is disabled and on one it isn't. I am transitioning to a new computer and can't get it to work on the new one. We are using Q2 2008 release of reporting and our crystal version is exactly what you have listed above and we are using Visual Studio 2008. I have tried putting that dll into the PrivateAssemblies folder and restarting but that didn't fix it. I checked the COM tab and it is listed there so I know it's installed and Visual Studio knows it's there. We are trying to get all of our Crystal reports converted and my old machine is dying and I really need to get this working on the new one. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Darin,
The KB article above is a bit outdated and is no longer accessible from our KB section, unless you know the exact url or you link to it as here, so it creates confusion. Please follow the instructions from the new KB article: Converting reports from various versions of CrystalReports.
