Hi,

-When will the next version of Telerik reports be released?
-Will the next release of Telerik reports have a wpf viewer? Will I perhaps have the capability to use my own wpf controls in the report if that is the case? (I'd like to use some of my own chart controls in the report)

Regards.
Jacobus

Hello Jacobus,

The next version (Q2 2009) is scheduled for the end of June. It would not contain a separate wpf viewer, but of course you can use our windows forms viewer for such purposes.
We have not planned to introduce a capability for using your own custom controls in our Reporting product as it is cannot be used as a "form" hosting external controls. Such functionality would require some serious effort, that we believe is unjustified.

Greetings,

Hi Steve,

Could you possibly give a list of new features that the new release of telerik will have? Also will there be any improvements to the charting features of the current release (I've had difficulties generating dynamic charts). I'm having a technical session with the rest of my development team. We will be discussing whether your product is the best solution. If you can provide me with this detail, I'll be able to defend your product. I'd appreciate it

Regards
Jacobus

Hi Jacobus,

We would update the RoadMap for the new Q in the next few days, so please have a little patience. However there would be no changes to the chart in this or any further versions as the chart item uses the same engine as the asp.net chart and its development has been stopped (only bugs are taken care of). Since I did not find a thread with the chart problem you've encounter, it would be best if you review the asp.net chart/reporting forums in case similar inquiry has been discussed already and if not, please open a thread for it - we would do our best to help.

Sincerely yours,
Steve

Just a following to the original question.  When will there be a WPF Viewer for the Telerik Reporting?  Currently we are using the Win Former viewer within a WPF Application.

Thanks,

Charlie J.

Hello Charlie,

There is no WPF viewer in our short-term plans as the winforms viewer does a pretty good job so far. Is there anything specific you would like to see in such a viewer excluding the styling capabilities?

Best wishes,
Steve

Guys,

Could you please provide a project sample using WinForms Viewer in a WPF Application to open a report?

Best regards,

Henrique
