Hi, I just came into contact with Kendo UI. I think it is very powerful, especially the function of MVVM is very easy to use.

I have a question that I haven't understood. After setting the data of the datasource, you can operate on it, but the schema.model property can set the information of the data field. Is this unnecessary?

I never know the relationship between datasource and schema. Model. It seems that I don't set schema. Model and datasource works normally.

Can any engineer explain their specific links and functions? Thank you for your help.

Hello, Mai,

The schema.model configuration is only necessary when using specific widgets. For example, if you are using Grid, Scheduler or some other widgets that support CRUD operations, the schema.model is necessary so that the editing would be applied for the correct data item. If you are using a widget that has a hierarchical dataSource, like the TreeView, you will also need the configuration to bind the child notes correctly. For widgets like the DropDownList, ComboBox etc, you may not need to use the schema.model option.

I hope that answers your question. Let me know if you have any further questions

Regards,
Martin
