It seems that during the install of the Q1 '13 tools, the toolbox was not initialized during the install.  I opened a new project and initialized the extensions form the Telerik Menu and this issue went away.

I have the same problem with the same error message.  I have already tried repairing the install as well as a full uninstall/reinstall.

Hi,

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

This is an issue regarding our source control system integration that we have just fixed. Updating the Telerik WebUI VSExtensions package to the latest version will solve the problem. Here are the steps to follow:

Steps for Visual Studio 2010
  1. Open Visual Studio 2010
  2. Launch "Extension Manager" (Tools | Extension Manager...)
  3. Navigate to "Updates" section and update Telerik WebUI VSExtensions

Steps for Visual Studio 2012
  1. Open Visual Studio 2012
  2. Launch "Extensions and Updates" (Tools | Extensions and Updates...)
  3. Navigate to "Updates" section and update Telerik WebUI VSExtensions

Please do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance.

Greetings,
Vesko

I have this same problem after doing the update. Any other advice? I have had nothing but trouble with these controls and I am about ready to ask for a refund.

Hi Stefan,

I am sorry to hear that you have bad experience.

Sometimes the deployment of Visual Studio extensions goes wrong. Could you ensure that your extensions are up-to-date (v. 2013.1.222.0)? Check the version in About Microsoft Visual Studio dialog (Help | About Microsoft Visual Studio). If Telerik WebUI VSExtensions look up-to-date their deployment must have gone wrong. In this case I recommend you to uninstall Telerik WebUI VSExtensions and install them again from Extension Manager (Extensions and Updates for Visual Studio 2012).

Kind regards,
Vesko
