Hello Team Telerik,

I want to ask how can I have a 3D chart. How can I do this?

Is there a property which set the chart in a 3D mode?

Another Problem I have is that I cant add a radLabel to a radGroupBox programatically.

Thanks very much

Kind regards,

Alfonsina

Hi Alfonsina,

Our RadChart for Winforms does not support 3D series. What I can suggest is that you consider using our WPF RadChart where we support several 3D chart types as stated in our documentation and online demos. Also you may consider integrating the WPF controls in your Winforms application as there are several resources online that will show you how to achieve it. (for example -> http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wpf/thread/379f3ff7-4133-46d6-8640-81f81eff771e/)

In regards to the RadLabel and RadGroupBox, please find the answer in the following forum thread:

Hello.

Do you plan at Telerik to implement the 3D feature in RadChart for Win Forms?

Very popular development suites like DevExpress do have the 3D features since many years?
Why not Telerik?

What about the future of control set for Win Forms at Telerik? Do you plan to enhance the suite or is it a product that you don't want to maintain at a long term?

Thanks for your reply.
Best regards

Hello Augusto,

Thank you for writing.

First of all, I would like to inform you that RadChart for WinForms is an obsolete component. In Q2 2012 we introduced its improved counterpart RadChartView for WinForms to which have been adding features and will continue to do so if there is a demand for it. 3D chart has not been a popular request for our charting solutions and currently we do not have certain plans to implement it. I created a PITS item for this request and you can vote for it here. We may reconsider our plans in case we see that the demand for it rises.

As to your question about the general Telerik WinForms development, we have not stopped adding features and components to the suite, and this policy will remain the same as long as we see that there is interest in the product. In Q1 2013 we released one brand new control - RadPdfViewer, the first official version of RadPivotGrid, and several RadChartView enhancements. In Q2 2013 we plan to release yet another highly requested component. The WinForms Roadmap will be published soon. Stay tuned!

All the best,
Nikolay
