Since our project uses the sharepoint masterpage we cannot add the ajaxmanager to the masterpage. We have a main composite page that contains a tabstrip and 10 user controls. Right now im trying to get the user controls to use ajax and put one of user controls inside a RadAjaxPanel. this works fine on the first attempt (hit a refresh button) but after that the control is locked down and no other requests work on it.
What would the recommended approach be for using a sharepoint master page with ajax? I couldnt find any examples that really deal with it.

I'm afraid that I'm unable to tell what may be the cause of the described behavior with the supplied details. Can you please give us little more details about the implementation of the scenario? How the usercontrols are loaded? Is it through custom webpart or a smart part etc.? Where is the RadAjaxPanel placed? Please note that if you are using a webpart in which the RadAjaxPanel is added programmatically it should be added inside onInit event.
