When trying to print a report (also occurs on demo site: http://demos.telerik.com/reporting/invoice-report/demo.aspx) in IE 7 browser, the user is prompted to save the PDF instead of being presented with the printer object window.

See screen shot attached - prompts user to save pdf file instead of printing.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

This behavior is by design and has been introduced in the Q3 2011 SP1 release. The True Print functionality of the Web Report Viewer depends on the Adobe PDF (or Chrome PDF plug-in for Chrome browser). If Adobe or Chrome PDF plug-in is not detected, clicking the print button would export the report to PDF and depending on the browser would either open it directly or ask you to save the PDF file. Prior to Q3 2011 SP1 release, whenever we do not detect a plug-in, the viewer resorted to the built-in browser print, which is incorrect as it would only print the first page i.e. the report that you see on the screen. Clearly this is wrong when you want to print a multipage report.

We've tested the print on IE7 and when you have Acrobat Reader installed (i.e. Adobe PDF plug-in enabled in the browser) the print works as expected. Please install Acrobat Reader if you haven't or make sure the PDF plug-in is enabled in IE7, if it is already installed to take advantage of the print functionality of the viewer.

Greetings,
Steve
