Hey there, I am running Windows 7 64 bit and I have both VS 2012 and VS 2012 installed.

When I try to run the installer for WPF controls, I get an error saying it could not find a dll needed to run. I reran the installer with logging turned on and after looking through it, the problem seems to be that the Telerik installer cannot find the dll needed to check that VS is open and needs to close. Any ideas how I get around this? I am thinking that I need to tell the installer NOT to install the VS extensions for 2010 and 2012, then install them manually within studio via the Extension Manager?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am trying to install Telerik controls for WPF, version 2012 Q3.. it may also be helpful to mention that I did not run into this issue for 2012 Q2.

Please help!

Hi,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Running our installer with no Visual Studio integration (click 'Customize' and uncheck the 'Visual Studio Extensions' subfeatures) may be a valid workaround. If the installation succeed you can install our VSExtensions using the Extension Manager.

Could you sent us the installation report in order to identify the exact reason causing that problem?

Hey there,.. that worked like a charm, thanks!

So, for anyone running into this problem,.. if the installer complains that it is missing the dll`s it needs to run, customize the installer NOT to install the VS Telerik extensions. Once the install completes,.. open the Extension Manager in VS and manually install the Telerik extensions for whatever products you installed (this requires you to have an internet connection).
