A customer has requested we make some of the images and labels on a report "uneditable" when they export the report to a PowerPoint.  The goal is that the user may need to edit some values on a slide but they don't want to have all the labels, and more importantly the company logo, editable on the slide.

Is there a way to do this on the report designer?

Hello Dan,

Currently the PowerPoint rendering extension does not offer any security features and all slides in a single Presentation document are fully editable. As far as we're aware, there is no native support for your exact inquiry - namely protect only images, but leave labels editable. You can either mark a presentation as final (read-only) or password protect it.

Anyway, you are the first person to contact us with request for security features for PowerPoint rendering and if there is enough interest from other users, we would consider it for subsequent version of the product.

Hi, thanks for the response.

I guess what I was looking for something that PowerPoint has like a master slide... something which basically makes a background image for all the other slides.  Items on the master slide are not select-able or editable while viewing a normal slide (the master slide itself is editable but the user has to go out of the way to do so).

In my case I have a report which has a company logo and some labels along with some data from a database and also some empty textboxes that a user must edit once they export the report to PowerPoint.  The goal is to allow the user to edit the PowerPoint slide without worrying about accidentally moving or editing certain fields and images.  If the logo and the certain labels were part of a master slide then this would solve the problem well enough.

Is it possible to create a scenario like this?

I tried making the logo as part of the report background but the end result is a large image in the middle of the PowerPoint slide which is selected anytime the user clicks anywhere on the slide other than another textbox.
