Hi,

currently I am testing the pivot grid with an OLAP adomd connection.

To be honest, the pivot grid looks buggy to me in many ways:

drag n drop
- When I try to drag any measure or attribute there is an offset to the mouse cursor.
- It says "Drop data fields here" etc. but it does not let you drop it there...
- Dragging any elements also causes scroll within the "All fields" area even though my mouse already left the area

general behaviour
- first selecting a measure puts the measure to the "row fields". then after clicking update the measure is moved to the "aggregate fields" area
- if I then select an attribute hierarchy (e.g. year month date) it is put to the "aggregate fields" area as well. clicking update will move it the row fields...

styling
- there is no styling available to control the width of the field menu (which is very narrow so one cant really read the captions unless you scroll horizontally)

I tested it in the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, IE. SSAS is 2008R2. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Timo,

Regarding the Drag & Drop: Thank you for commenting on the issues and reporting them. I can ensure you I have contacted our dev team so they could take a look at these behaviors and make them more user friendly.

Regarding the general behavior: You are correct in your observation and I am happy to say that these issues are fixed and will be available in the next Service Pack release which will be release in the beginning of April.

Regarding the styling: RadPivotGrid presents five possible positions and four layout types which total twenty variations of the ConfigurationPanel. The settings could be found under the RadPivotGrid.ConfigurationPanelSettings Position and LayoutType properties. You could manually customize each field section using CSS and specify the desired custom width.

Additionally, I have updated your account by adding Telerik points in sign of gratitude for reporting your suggestions regarding the Drag & Drop functionality.
