If we understand you correctly the desired behavior of pinning/unpinning RadPane instances in the DocumetnHost of the RadDocking control is to have them go to the first position in the RadPaneGroup rather than go into their unpinned state and be placed inside an AutoHideArea. If this is the desired behavior unfortunately it is not available in the current version of RadDocking.
As we do our best to be implement RadDocking to be consistent with the docking manager of Visual Studio will have logged this feature request in our feedback portal. You can vote for it and track its status here.
