We followed your instructions to make the reports (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF1mL6vzJDs&t=738s). But I have 1 question, how do we decentralize these reports?

For example:
We have 2 reports on 2 html pages, report1.html and report2.html
We have 2 users, user_a and user_b

user_a can only access report1.html
and user_b can only access report2.html

Please guide how to do the above authorization
Thank you

Hello Dang Dinh,

I would suggest using the Telerik Report Server product as it supports this functionality out of the box. You can take a look at the Users and Permissions article, for reference. (check out the Live Report Server demo as well)

Otherwise, Telerik Reporting itself does not come with built-in authorization because the security requirements of different users can vary widely. This is why the exact, implementation is left up to the developer.

Hi Momchil,

I learned Telerik Report Server. It doesn't work for us, We have several thousand users, I can't license all of them.

Suppose, I continue to use Telerik Reporting. Can you please guide me on how to do this function?

Thanks and best regards,

Dang Dinh Phong

Hello Dang Dinh Phong,

I am sorry to hear that the Telerik Report Server will not work for you.

In regard to your question about limiting the access of different users. Authentication and Authorization is a broad topic and actually implementing it is not a trivial task. Thus, providing concrete steps is not really feasible.

However, I can share some useful resources on the matter.

General Authentication and Authorization guidance.

Some specifics about securing the Telerik Reporting REST Service API

I hope this information helps you get started.
