Hey Everyone!

I'm looking for the possibility to split a PageHeader or a GroupHeader in two or more sections like it's possible in CrystalReports.

GroupHeader1a
GroupHeader1b
GroupHeader1c
GroupHeader2
Details
GroupFooter2
GroupFooter1c
GroupFooter1b
GroupFooter1a

All three Group1 sections group/change on the same field, but the content can be independent from each other, even their visibility.

Is this possible?

Regards,
Michael

Hello Michael,

It is very easy to accomplish the same task with Telerik Reporting. For your situation you can create several groups with the same group criteria or in a single group add several panel items and using Conditional Formatting to set their visibility in specific situations. We suggest you review the following articles in our help documentation:

Good Morning!

Thx for the solution. But isn't it an performance issue if i have to create, lets say, 4 groups which have to be evaluated vor every dataset? I fear the CR solution might be faster because its clear that the 1b, 1c sections are only parts of group 1 and not stand-alone?

If not, perfect ;). If so, perhaps you will find a new solution for this issue in one of the next releases.

I think the panel solution isn't as good as the group solution, because the groups can be set inviisble and no paper space is wasted because they dissapear. If i set the panels invisible, they become just invisible but the area reserved for them will be there and empty?!

Michael

Hello Michael Hilgers,

There is no problem to add 4 or more groups, this won't affect the performance of the report. We want to clear one more time what should be done in order to create the described case.
  1. Add a group with Grouping criteria. This will be Group1;
  2. Add 3 more groups without Grouping criteria, Group1 will the the parent of those groups i.e. Group1 a,b,c;
  3. After that create a group with Grouping criteria and this will be Group2.

By executing the following steps you will have the desired structure. You can use the Group Explorer in which you can overview the added groups and their grouping criteria.

Best wishes,
