Overlapping bars, different width how to center?

I have two bars with the BarWidthPercent set to 100 so that they overlap each other.  I then have set the BarWidthPercent of series 2 to 50% so that the second bar can be seen in front of the series 1 bar.

The problem I am experiencing is that series 1 (width 70) is centered  but the series 2 (width 50) is aligned to the right of the bar.  I am wanting it to be centered inside the axis markers.   What would be the approach to do this.

I'll see if I can ascii up the problem.
