Do Kendo UI make full support for OData V4 in the new release ?
I ask because that we earlier this year tried to use odata v4 together with Kendo UI, and it gave us some problems with the grid and problems with the datetime.

We need to use some of the features now, that odata v4 gives us. But I can not find any information if you are going to support it now ?
If the answer is no - then my next question will be - when can we expect it to be supported ?

Thanks in advance

Hello Peter,

Thank you for contacting us.

Still the odata-v4 is not fully supported when it comes to the new type DateTimeOffset that was a breaking change for all the database types. Since our dataSource / model architecture does not currently allow to save information for both the date and the offset (since we use JavaScript dates up until now) we need to re-implement major part of all our date picking widgets and model / dataSource infrastructure.

At this point we cannot give concrete date when we will fully support the new version of the odata-v4 protocol and more specifically the WebAPI implementation. An example regarding the new version of the odata protocol is available here.

Thanks Petur,

Actually your answer helps us. Because the example you shared, were a example were the application shows a outer join, and that is one of the issues we had. It were our odata definition that was wrong for the table.

But it will still be good, if you soon implement odata4

Kind Regards

Hello guillaume,

I'm afraid that the mentioned limitations are still present in the current version of the library.

Hi,

We are currently improving the OData v4 support and checking out features as batch processing. That said stay tuned and checkout the next official release notes for the OData improvements.

As for the DateTime support it was fixed in version 5.6. More information can be found here. That siad please update the OData packages and give it a try.
