We can send you version build against .NET Framework 4.0 if you open a support ticket. Another option would be to just wait for the Q1 2011 Beta which will be available in a day or two and will contain versions for .Net Framework 3.5 and 4.0.

You are right, this should be your option, but the good news is this wait shouldn't be long in your case - just stay tuned on our Silverlight Release History RSS feed - the new version - Q1.Beta will be out in a couple of days.
We are waiting for your feedback once you put your hands on the beta.
