Hi Support,
In my main report, I've several sub reports. One of those displays in multicolumn. However, this multicolumn subreport displays only one long column even in HTML or PDF. I've tried to make it works like hours, but no luck.
Anyway, if I display that multicolumn report directly without including it in the main report, it works.
Any advice on this?
Thanks,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,
HTML rendering extension displays multicolumn report as a single-column and that behavior is by design due to the fact that html is not a page oriented format. Please, review the help topic Design Considerations for Report Rendering for more information about rendering extensions.
Also you can review the topic Design Considerations for HTML Rendering for specific information about what to keep in mind when designing reports that will be used with HTML extension.
All the best,

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your response. I don't mind if it doesn't work in HTML, but it also doesn't work when rendering it in PDF. Like I said, it's working correctly (in PDF) if I don't include it in other report as sub report.
Any advice?
Sandy

Hello Sandy,
At this moment multicolumn subreports are not supported by Telerik Reporting either. We are still researching on the functionality. Once implemented this feature will appear in the release notes of the product.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello,
Is this functionality going to be added any time soon? I'm evaluating the Reporting module, and this is, so far, the only thing that keeps us from purchasing the full version.
Thank you,
Virgil

Hello Virgil,
Thank you for your interest in our product and I am really happy that you like it.
About the specific feature you are looking for: I will not lie you, at this moment we cannot provide a time frame when it will be implemented. For the current release our major efforts are put into the CrossTab report item which will be really powerful and will provide even more flexibility in data presentation.
Write us again if you have any questions regarding our product.

Hello Jeroen,
Check the reply provided in the support ticket #1123238 that you opened on the same question. For other community members interested in this topic, below is the reply from the ticket:
"In order to have multiple columns in the report, they need to be defined in report's PageSettings -> ColumnCount property.
However, when you use SubReport its PageSettings will not be respected and will be overridden by the PageSettings of the master report.
The possible approaches in your scenario are as following:
1. It is still possible to create a multicolumn layout in the subreport with a List item - the approach is described in How to: Create Multi-Column Report - Across the Page and Then Down KB article.
2. If this approach does not work for you, avoid the SubReport items and place the items of subreports in the Detail section of the master report and set the required column count in PageSettings of the master report - How to: Create a Multi-Column Report.
3. Another approach is to use a ReportBook to combine multiple reports into one. Using ReportBook, you can combine reports with different PageSettings and the column count of each report will be respected."

Katia
