Mousewheel pan & zoom

I'd like to be able to zoom in with Mousewheel (works fine) and pan sideways with Mousewheel + Ctl.

Is this possible?

Currently, the supported approach for Pan is to use SHIFT + Mouse drag:

I can suggest submitting a feature request in our feedback portal and based on its popularity we may implement it in a future release. Additionally, I can suggest describing the expected result when the Ctrl key is held and the mouse wheel is moved up or down:
