Will the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX work in Microsoft's new MVC Framework? Although that is really a blanket question, it came up at my last .NET community meeting. I am sure that some features on most of your controls will probably work (like the RadTabStrip), but I am not sure about the controls that require post back features (since there is no post back in MVC).
What information can you provide me with so I can field these sort of questions? Any information would be helpful.
The most asked questions:
Will there be a control set for the MVC framework?
If so, will they require a separate developer license?
Thanks!
John

Hi John,
There is another thread in the forums about Telerik and MVC with some insights but generally, we are still in R&D and waiting for Microsoft's standardized approach for using custom controls within MVC. The whole idea of using server-side controls (like Telerik's RadControls) within MVC will undergo a serious evolution. We will do our best to be among the first vendors to provide controls that work in MVC. Yet, we are not sure when we will be able to release this and if MVC support will be part of the same codebase or in a different product-line. One thing is certain -- customers who have subscription license will definitely get this as a part of the bundle.
Sincerely yours,
Ivo

Without MVC support in the near future I will be forced to consider other control solutions such as ExtJS, etc. It sounds like Telerik is a long way off before they will be able to offer anything.

I didn't notice in the link any mention of an anticipated beta or release date. I would like a strong indication that Telerik is getting in the game. With other vendors already offering some support, it's getting harder and harder to wait. It would appear that at least two other vendors are offering support already...one as feature complete and the other with partial support.
Do you have a beta program where we Telerik fans can help get this out?

By the way, the $0$0$0Gerry$0$0 stuff at the bottom of my post was the result of using the google chrome browser. I imagine this is a known issue--don't know if there is a workaround or we just have to wait until there is a new version of RadControls. For now I'm telling people to not use Chrome on my sites if they do any editing.

Hello Gerry,
We are committed to be among the first major ASP.NET component vendors to provide MVC support. We will soon have something to show to the community.
We have already fixed all issues related to the new Google Chrome browser. We are going through QA and we will release a Service Pack next week and we will update all controls on our website as well.
Sincerely yours,
Ivo

Now that MVC has hit beta and there is a go live license I am thinking that there should be a Tererik announcement but there is none.
Any update?
