Does Telerik Reporting support a matrix control just like the one in the Microsoft reportviewer?

Hi Marcel,

I am afraid that at the moment Telerik Reporting cannot create crosstab (pivot, matrix) reports. This task is with high priority in our TODO list and will surely made it for a subsequent release of Telerik Reporting.

Sorry for the temporary inconvenience.

Will this include supporting Analysis Services Cubes as a datasource (and specifying MDX queries) ?

Hello Donald,

Once we start working on this functionality, we would be able to provide more details on what features will be included. Currently we cannot engage with any commitments and timeframes regarding this new functionality.

Sincerely yours,
Steve

Hello kumar,

As can be seen from the Q3 release notes, we have not had the chance to work on this functionality. Crosstab feature has been scheduled for the Q1 2009 release.

Hi Steve,

I am using Telerik ReportViewer for Silverlight Q2 2010 and it still does not support matrix.
We are seriously considering to by license for the reportviewer.
Most of my reports using matrix.

When this feature is going to be implemented?

Hello Igor,

Matrix is the name in Reporting Services, however we have an item with the same purpose and functionality that we call CrossTab. The fact you have not found it, makes us ask, what are you trying to achieve and have you tried using the CrossTab to do it?

Kind regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,

I don't have Cross Tab option in the report wizard. That is what I am after.
I also don't have Telerik Report items in the Visual Studio Toolbox after installing the product:
http://www.telerik.com/help/reporting/report-items-intro.html
I probably have to add them to the tool box manually, but to which dll I have to navigate?

Thanks

Igor

Hi Igor,

The report items are added automatically by the report installer and you do not need to add them manually. It is worth nothing that they are contextually visible i.e. toolbox tabs and items are hidden if they cannot be used in the current opened document. For example, if you have opened a .cs file in Visual Studio you will not be able to see most of the toolbox items since you are not able to drop any of them on the .cs file.

Could you please try to open a Report in its designer and check if there is a Telerik Reporting Q2 tab and all relevant items in it (see attached screenshot)? If there are still no items you can resort to manual installation. To force them being added, please try the following and let us know if any has helped:

  • choose reset from the context menu of the VS toolbox
  • open VS cmd prompt and run devenv /setup
  • use the repair/change option of the Reporting installation.
All the best,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the explanation.
The report items did not appear automatically.
I had to reset toolbox.

All is good now.

Regards

Igor
