Hi Charly,
Currently our ChartView control doesn't support Annotations (Marked Zones, custom gridlines or custom lines). However this is in our near future development plans.
As a workaround I suggest that you use the striplines of the Cartesian chart. You may find them described in this help topic. Please note that you may add as many Y stripe brushes as you want to imitate a rectangular background area i.e. marked zone.
All the best,

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion.
My current workaround is actually to retemplate the radchartbase and use lineargradientbrush as background of plotAreaDecoration.

Charly

Hi Obalesu,
The way location crosshairs were made for RadChart is by dynamically drawing a custom gridlines at the mouse cursor position on the Chart Area. The custom grid lines in RadChart are annotations. Currently there are no annotations in RadChartView, but we are working on this feature for the next official release (in about two months from now) so stay tuned.

Hello Obalesu,
Currently that is not possible (besides the workaround with stripes mentioned earlier in this thread).
Annotations support for RadChartView will be implemented for Q3 2012 (around mid-October) and will support overlaying custom gridlines, plotbands (marked zones), and generic FrameworkElements onto the plot area surface.
