Hello,

I started to play with Telerik reporting, it seems very promising.
I would like to know if it's possible to do easily a report that have a HTML table layout, see my screenshot to understand what I mean.

My datasource is a SQL database, I see that you can bind what you want on the report. My question is more about the layout capabilities of Telerik Reporting.

I'm thinking about making one line with textbox inside a panel and try to apply styles. I'm not sure if it's a good solution, it's seems a bit complicated complex. Is there a better solution ?

PS : screenshot sample of the layout desired here

Hello Pierre-Olivier,

Our HTMLRendering engine uses tables for the layout, but it can't reflect "table like" layout of the report. We do not have a table report item yet, but it is in development and will appear with our next major release.

Table-like layout can be accomplished by using TextBoxes placed side by side, with applied borders. This is the only workaround we can offer you, and which should suit you well in case you have small number of items. If you would like to show many cells, you may be better off to wait for the next version when this feature will be available.

All the best,

Hi,

Yes, HTML rendering will be great.  Will it be available in Q2 (next major release), or not till Q3?  The roadmap made it look more like the end of the year, not September.

Thanks, and looking forward to using your reporting tool more.

Hi Ben,

Our initial plans were to release the Table item in the September version of Telerik Reporting. We however decided to pull the release date with about a month, in order to have a single and strong Q2 release with all of our suites (ASP.NET, Prometheus, WinForms, Reporting). Unfortunately, less time for the release means less features, and the Table item has been postponed to Q3, in December.

The Q2 release will be dubbed as an intermediate version 1.5, and the Q3 release will be a major version (v2).

Sincerely yours,
Svetoslav

Will a table based report item be ready for the Q1 2008 release?

Thanks.

Hi Ben Alexandra,

I am afraid that the Table report item won't get ready for the Q1 2008 release. We are still working on some other things that will actually prepare Telerik Reporting for Table/Crosstab functionality.

As soon as we get ready with the Table item it will be included in the product roadmap.

Sincerely yours,
Svetoslav
