Is it possible to create chart which is dynamic rather than static?

Hi All,

I am using Standalone Report designer . Through this i have created a report which is static means i am not able to click on chart on run time(this means Static Chart) .So i want a chart on which i want to change the chart on click basis and all ohther chart change accoring to my click on run time means dynamic chart.

Please see this telerik dashboard example and tell me , is it possible to create this type of dashboard with Stabdalone Telerik Report Designer?

Hi Narender,

Reports are templates bound to data, where data should have tabular presentation and the same schema on designing and displaying the report. To create charts you can use the Graph item - Chart types.
The interactivity supported in reports is navigation between and within reports in the same viewer, navigation to URL, toggling the visibility of items in the report. For more details, please check Actions
and Document Map.


If you are interested in other interactivity features, please elaborate with screenshots and short descriptions.

Actually i am using Standalone Report designer and created some reports like example of Standalone report designer in below link:

So i am able to create report like above link.But you can see these report are static .

 

So i have searched some more telerik dashboard like in below link:

http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/salesdashboard/

 

in above link , you can see very attrative and responsive reports like dynamic report.So i want to create report like these dynamic type reports with use of Standalone Report Designer .

 

So my question is that "Is this type of Seles demo(http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/salesdashboard/ ) possible with Standalone Report designer "?

Or i have to require some .net effort/Ajax/MVC etc.?

The interactivity features in the Sales Dashboard demo e.g. tooltips, animation, updates in the page based on selection in the page (without full refresh), grid like sorting and paging in the same page, are provided by the native for web applications Telerik UI for AJAX controls. Telerik UI for AJAX provides also libraries allowing you to save the HTML page in different formats - Client Export Manager

Telerik Reporting provides tools allowing you to visualize data and execute aggregations and calculations over it, where the result document can be exported in multiple formats. The document is static and has coherent layout in the supported rendering formats. Interactivity is supported to the extend the supported media allow it.

It means , these type of dashboard are not possible with Standalone report designer.We need  Telerik UI for AJAX controls to crate such type of dasboard.Right?

I dont have knowledge of .net (C#) so i am using stand alone report designer.I think in Telerik UI for AJAX controls i need to learn .net (C#)??

 

Or we dont require .net knowledge in using Telerik UI for AJAX controls. Please clarify me so that i can take my dicision.

To develop applications with Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX, you will need Visual Studio - System Requirements. Telerik UI for AJAX provides design-time support and wizards allowing you to configure controls without writing markup or code, but depending on the scenario you may need to write code to control the behavior of the page and the added controls and data sources.

My recommendation is to contact our Sales team and to discuss the case in more details with them.
