Hi,

We found a critical inconsistency between Kendo Theme Builder and the Figma default theme UI kit regarding the button components

  1. In Theme Builder / Bootstrap Theme: The fill mode property correctly includes the "Link" option.

  2. In Default Themes (Figma Kit): The fill mode doesn't have Link option (only has Solid, Flat, Outline)

When will the Default Figma libraries be updated to include the "Link" variant?

Hello Cynthia,

While the ThemeBuilder team is not related to the team that creates the Telerik UI kit, I've consulted them on your behalf. I can confirm that the link fill mode variations, along with others, are not included in the UI Kits. The reason for that is purely to optimize the file - currently there are literally thousands of variant instances even without including all possible combinations. In addition, the Kendo Theme recently added more size options (like XS), which introduced even more instances in the UI Kit files. For that reason, not all property combinations are exposed in the UI Kit, and the UX team does not intend to add them all, mainly because that would cause performance issues due to the enormous size.

Meanwhile, in ThemeBuilder, you can create and work with all properties by creating component configurations, so you have the option to define your own instances in Figma and use them as desired at any later point (e.g., to map them to the related ThemeBuilder styling template).
