IE8 rendering problem

Hi,

We have a problem with the RAD editor in IE8. It seems to render totally wrong even when we add the compatibility mode meta tag:

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />.

In other browsers (tested in chrome 4 and FF 3.5) this problem never occurs. Also when I open the development tools in IE8 and switch manually to Browser mode: IE8 everything works fine. But on the initial page load, with or without the IE7 compatibility tag, it gives problems. See the attached screenshots for details.

We are using Telerik ASP.NET AJAX controls with buildnumber 2008.1.619.0. 

I hope you can help me with this.

Hello Jouke,

Version 2008.1.619.0 is released at least an year before the official release of IE8 and it does not support this browser.

We provided full support for IE8 in Q1 2009 SP1 (version 2009.1.402)  and my recommendation is to upgrade to the latest Q1 2010 SP2 (version 2010.1.519) in order to solve the problem.

the problem is totally reverse in my case.. by using 519 release i got toons of rendering issues.. and i and hacked up..

Hi Kaushal,

Could you please be more specific regarding the rendering issues you are experiencing? Are you using custom skins? What is the previous version of RadControls that you were using for your application?

A sample project and / or a screen shot demonstrating the problem will be of great help resolving the problem. Could you please open a support ticket and provide the additional information regarding the specific problem?
