Has anyone else run into this problem, and does anyone know a workaround?

The problem seems to ONLY occur in IE8, but if you have a vertical scrolling RadListBox and try to scroll down in the list, and select something, the box will "jump" back to the top of the list, making it almost impossible to select items further down in the list.

Again, this only happens in IE8 native mode.  IE6 and 7, firefox, safari, opera, chrome, and even IE8 compatibility mode seem to work fine.

It's not a huge deal, but certaintly stuff of unecessary user enquiries when implemented.

Thanks,

Kuba

Hello,

I have exactly the same behaviour with my ListBox and I was searching in my code to fix this problem. After reading your post I tried to use another browser and my ListBox works perfectly!

Hi guys,

This is bug in the RadListBox. The official fix is going to be available forth from the Q3 release which is scheduled for the beginning of November. Until then you can use the workaround mentioned in the other forum thread.

That's great.

I wish that thread would have been tagged a little better/differently, however, I'm not sure how it could be tagged, as the problem is a bit wierd.  I don't deal with the SelectedIndexChanged in this particular instance, so I doubt I'd ever find the thread on any search I was doing.

Either way, I'm glad the fix is in the upcoming release.

Thanks,
Kuba

Hello Kuba Cole,

The problems described here and in the other thread are different. However, it happened that one solution solves both of the problems. If you don't want to wait for the Q3 release, you can check out  the latest internal build, as we have included the fix there. More information on how to obtain the latest internal can be found here.

Genady,

I don't know if the problem is completely fixed in the latest internal build (2009.2.1028.20).  I downloaded the latest and implemented it into my web project but it doesn't seem to be working correctly.  If you scroll down and click on an item, that item stays selected, but IE still scrolls back to the very top.  Before you couldn't even select anything, so it has solved part of the problem but not all of it.

If I am missing something, please let me know.  But as far as I can tell, the problem still exists.

Thanks,
Zach

Hi Zach,

You are right, there were some issue left when using IE 8 in compatibility mode. The good news are that we have completely fixed the problem in the Q3 release which was released today. You can verify the fix on our online demos.
