I have been basically a Progress Developer for 30 years, using Kendo UI Query, is there anything to match the old AppBuilder?

Something like Open Edge Appbuilder for screen design etc ideally with good match for the Kendo "WIdgets" for designing Forms

I would suggest you take a look at the Unite UX documentation. It does not have the same functionalities as AppBuilder, but it might fit your needs:
