RadRichTextBox currently doesn't provide built-in functionality for importing .doc files and we have logged a request about that on our public portal: RichTextBox: Support for .doc documents. You can use the linked item to vote for the implementation of the task as well as subscribe to it if you would like to be notified about status changes on the task.
What I can suggest at this point is to use the example linked in the public request shared above or convert the document to DOCX using the format provider classes provided by WordsProcessing: DocFormatProvider and DocxFormatProvider.
