Hi,
I have report which has conditional formatting based on clientId. if the clientid is some x, I need to hide some controls. But when I hide these controls, right side controls are moving to left and bottom controls moving to top. How can I fix control's position with out considering other controls visibility. Please help on this.

Hello Sridhar,

Place the report items that you would like to hide in a Panel item. This way when you hide the item inside the panel, the occupied space would remain. For more information refer to Design Considerations for Report Item Layout help article.

 Thanks Steve,

But already placed all the controls in panel by looking at design considerations article last time. But tit does not working. I used anchors also. Finally I put empty text in the text box.

FYI. I used panel and controls in group header. The same header renders for each client.

For picturebox, I can not put any empty value. So it is giving issue.

Hello Sridhar,

You should not place all controls in a single panel, rather you should place the items you plan to hide in separate panels and continue hiding the items (not the panels).

All the best,

Steve,

Are group sections fixed. I mean if I place controls in group headers, its position is constant? or changes? Design positions and exported pdf's positions are not matching. pdf's positions are moving down a little.

Hi Sridhar,

The items placed in the header have a constant position in the header, but relative position in the report itself. Please have in mind that depending on the rendering media the group headers can have different positions throughout the report - for example the PDF paging may force the group to start the at the next page, therefore moving the whole group down a little.

Other than that it will be best if you provide us with more information about your current issue, which will help us advise you accordingly. It will be best if you provide us with a runnable sample that exhibits the problem so that we could reproduce it at our end.

Kind regards,

Thanks IvanY,

Our requirement is to print the certificates on pre printed papers. So everything must be in fixed position.

Hi Sridhar,

In such case you should test and make sure your report is rendered correctly in the format used for printing. For example for printing from the web report viewer, you should make sure the report items position is correct in PDF format.

All the best,
