How can I merge gridview footer column?

Hi,

I want to merge some of the columns of GridView footer. I want to design grid something like below.

Column1	Column2	Column3	Column4	Column5	Amount
Details of Name of person will display here.					Total Amount: 999.99

How can I achieve this?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks for quick reply.
I already had a look at the thread. It just graphically merges the cells i.e. sets BorderThikness = 0 that's all nothing else. While I have to actually merge columns so that it span through other cells as displayed in my first post.
Just have a look at my first post to understand requirement.

I am afraid that merging footer cells can be achieved in the way illustrated in the sample project from the suggested forum.
