Grid filter menu hides on input hover

When I open column menu, hover filter, and then hover input, filter menu is closing. Is this a bug?  Why this happens? Is there any way to escape this strange behavior?

The issue affects the online demo http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/column-menu as well, but only on chrome since last update on 12-16, with version 55.0.2883.

All my customers have a broken user interface :-(

We are also finding this issue. However I should note the latest kendo does appear to remedy the problem.

We found out this issue too which occurrs also with the latest version.

Please note as temporary workaround that clicking on the operator combo first makes it possible then to select the input text.

This issue is fixed and a fix will be available in the next release (R1 2017). You can track it and find a workaround here: https://github.com/telerik/kendo-ui-core/issues/2526.
