Hello,

is it possible to use the reporting service only for creating a PDF file directly without showing the the report in a viewer?

In the moment the report ist only shown in a Silverlight viewer.
But now I have the requirement to create the report on the server and sent the report directly as a PDF file via Email to the customers.

Regards
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

The Exporting Report in Silverlight help article elaborates on your inquiry.

Hi Steve,
thank you, but you misunderstod me.
I know that I can save the report as a PDF file within the Silverlight viewer.
But now I need also to create the same report on the server and send it via Email without (!) a viewer.
This should only run on the server in a service which send a daily report to customers.
Is this possible?

Dirk

Hello Dirk,

Use the RenderReport method of the ReportProcessor class to render the report and save it to the desired format. You should handle the emailing part yourself as it is not supported automatically due to the embedded nature of the Telerik Reporting product.
