Hi,
I have been waiting for this feature to be integrated in the Reporting suite for years now. I was wondering if the team has considered a feature for generating reports from client-side data in Silverlight as my application do not use server data? I need to generate report from the user input. Do you have this feature now and its just that I am unaware of it?
I really do not want to have to buy the whole suite from another vendor just for this feature as everything else Telerik intregrates nicely into my app.

Is anybody listening to this thread? Is there no way to generate report using in-memory data in Silverlight app? Any suggestions / direction would be appreciated.

Hello Deepak,
Тhe reporting engine is not compatible with Silverlight and it requires .NET framework to perform its operations. In other words there is no report object on the SL client, the reports reside on the server and Telerik Reporting Service WCF service enables the remote access to the Telerik Reporting engine. The Reporting Service acts as a communication interface between the client programs and the report server.
Generally you can use a service to provide a report datasource as you would use any other method for retrieving data, you can consume it with the help of our ObjectDataSource.

Hi ,
My colleague has elaborated on the reason why there is no client-side report generation. The report has to be processed and rendered on the server, and our Reporting WCF service returns it to the viewer.
