Look at the screen shot: the first entry is selected by the search, but it is not highlighted. It's because the "i" char has a special accent on it.
It seems that the logic between search and highlighting is not the same.

Thank you for the provided image.
I was able to reproduce this behavior. At the moment of writing, the Search As You Type functionality of the RadGridView does not provide a way to search with accent insensitive settings. Therefore, I have logged a feature request in our Feedback Portal where you can vote for its implementation and track its progress. I also updated your Telerik points.

Hi Dinko,
Searching is working, as you can see in my example. It's just the highlighting that uses a different algorithm and doesn't highlight this part!

Thank you for your clarification. The logic for filtering and highlighting is different, but the result should be the same. I have also hit a few scenarios where both do not support. That is why I have logged a more general feedback item. I have already forwarded this behavior to our development team for further investigation.
